Campervan hire all you need to know

Campervan Hire South West

Staying in one place or want to travel around?

If you are planning a road trip, you’ll want a vehicle you can easily drive along the winding roads as well as something that’s easy to park.  Moovans’ VW T5 & T6 vans are about the same size as a standard saloon car.  Height is not generally an issue as the pop top roof will allow you to get into many car parks.  High roof vehicles can be more challenging. If in doubt, always get out and check your clearance.

Campervan hire with pets

Bringing the dog can sometimes result in extra charges.  Not with Moovans we love our dogs and want you all to have a great holiday.  If you are planning on taking the pooch, remember to ensure your best friend is safely secured during transit.  Most campsites will allow dogs but please always check in advance.  During high season some beaches can be restrictive about dog walking.  We use this handy website to check the best places to take your dogs https://www.thegooddogguide.com/devon/dog-friendly-beaches

Cooking in a campervan

If you are planning to do your own cooking we advise you ensure your campervan hire comes with the equipment needed for cooking.  As keen (amateur) chefs, all our vans come with everything you need to whip up a feast, including a kettle for a cuppa and chopping boards and knives Moovans so you can prepare a meal.  You can find our favourite recipes that can all easily be prepared in the onboard kitchen here cooking in a camper

All our vans come with a microwave (need to be on electric hook up) and a fridge (runs on solar power so no need for hook up).

Keeping warm all seasons

One thing we all love is the British weather!  Be prepared for every eventuality by ensuring your hire campervan comes with heating.  Moovans come with blown air heating that will keep you toasty all year round.

Make sure you are insured

Always check when hiring that you will be fully covered in the event of an accident.  You are required by law to have third party liability cover when driving on UK roads.  You should also carefully check what liability you will have in the event of fire, theft or damage to the vehicle.  Many insurers will not cover the full amount in the event of a fire or theft while you are in possession of the vehicle.  Please carefully read the terms and conditions for your campervan hire so that you fully understand any liability you may have in these eventualities.  Most rental companies will require a deposit reserved on your credit card at time of collecting your vehicle.  Don’t forget your driving licence or credit card when coming to collect your campervan.
